I need feedback!

If you have time can you leave details of how useful you found the information on this site. If possible this would include your school and a bit about what you attempted with them. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

thanks, I see my dad still has pulling power at the high. The layers page has some stuff on it and there is also a great attachment I created in the GE in word page. Yes lots more needs. I will have a survey up on it next week so maybe in a months time come back and it will be going fully. Out of interest can you see if you can open this site and view attachments in your school. My blog explains the problems I am having here.
Thanks again!
Richard

Have just had a look at your site and there's a lot of interesting stuff here. I am a primary school teacher and I have to echo your sentiments re; youtube...I have been extrememly frustrated on realising that some fantastic material is not availble to me for classroom use due to policies on Web2.0 . Case in point this week ..the Olympic Torch relay is a potentially brilliant SESE theme...couldn't show the Ceremony in greece due to links to youtube. Keep up the work.. I may even try to make a pair of gloves. !! Carol 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I have not used youtube before, so perhaps I might be persuaded to get in there. I can imagine that the site might be very useful in schools, providing they can access the material!

Enjoyed the flight over the Alps clip very much. Stunning pictures.

There is always teachers tube. Also you normally just make a tour in Google Earth and display it aslong as you the computer you are showing it on also has Google Earth. I will be making some video tutorials on all this for the wesite in the next week or so. Do you find this valuable?

Hi Richard,
You did a great job on your site well done. My name is John and I am from Sligo, Ireland. I am doing my Dissertation on Google Earth and the feasibility of using it as a marketing tool. It’s a fantastic application and the 4.6 version seems really advanced. I was wondering if you would like to collaborate in the near future. Web 2.0 is taking the Irish Marketing world by storm. Sligo IT allows You Tube, but they are having issues with Bebo and have blocked it.

Hi John

Thanks for the comments, I am handing in my work on this next week so will be able to add your message. At present I am looking forward to closing the computer down for a couple of weeks and having a break from GE. But I am hoping to do a master developing it further in education and possibly with over software such as Arcview. Anyway I would definitely be interested in speaking to you, as I am sure their are lots of marketing avenues to look at. I have the Google Earth Pro version that I think allows you to embed demographic data etc onto it. I have not tried this at the moment. It would probably be best to speak on the phone. My email is richard.webb1@gmail.com
I will send you my number once I hear from you.
Thanks again
Richard

That sounds great Richard. I'll send you a private email with my details. I am doing an analysis this weekend on Google earth’s future, as I would be concerned that any research on the application can go out of date very quickly. The new 3D orb views in 4.6 could have some serious benefit as a teaching tool. My research is looking at the work done in the Green Box, on sustainable tourism. Do you find this valuable?

Hi Richard,
Thanks for putting this site together. I am a primary school teacher working in Glasgow and have used your ideas to bring alive our short geography topic about the local area with P6. Had not used this software before but found videos really easy to follow and the children got lots out of making their own videos at different points on the map. I had thought of using google earth as an intro to mapping and your site was a great help. Took me a fair bit of time to get started but now that this is in place the rest of school will use in years to come. (In Scotland we don't have access to you-tube either. )
Keep up the good work and I'll keep an eye on your site for further ideas.
Alan

Hi, Alan, thats great to hear. If you want to post your work with the pupils on this site as an example it would be no problem.
Keep speading the word
Richard

Found this site looking at Higher Ed Wikis on Wet Paint. Nice use of wiki. Out of curiousity, have you used this site to organize references for your thesis?
